Who else can prove this quote better than Covid-19? We set too low the significance of a healthy body and cleanliness around ourselves for a long time and, here we are. The trending hashtags #stayhome #stayfit has hit everyone’s priority list now. And the race has shifted from “who is richer than who?” to “whose immune is better than who?”.
Social distancing has increased our digital tryst. Meetings, conferences, webinars, schools, training, video chats, work, and e-readings everything has moved virtually. And, it becomes very important to take care for our fragile eyes. Laptops, computers and mobile phone releases Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) radiations which are toxic for us and damages our eyes (declared by WHO).
Excess use of anything causes destruction. We can not postpone our career but we can take the necessary precautions to make it better. After all, it is our responsibility to take care of our system. And, for this, I have come up with some very simple steps you can take for the wellness of your eyes.
1. Wear Spectacles
If you wear spectacles while using your machines you are already doing 80% favor to your eyes. Specs prevent eyes from getting direct contact with radiations.
2. Wash your eyes
Take the hand full of water, wide open your eyes, and hurl the water in your eyes. Repeat this 3 to 4 times at a time and for 2-3 times in a day. This will wash off the fatigue in the eyes and reduce the pressure.
3. Eye Rolling
Sit up straight with a long spine and relaxed breath. Without moving your head, gaze up towards the ceiling and slowly circle your eyes clockwise 5 times and then 5 times anti-clockwise. Then close your eyes and relax. This will relax your eye muscle.
Warm-up your hands by rubbing your palms against each other. Close your eyes and slowly put the hands on your eyes and take a deep breath. It will soothe your optic nerve which causes irritation in your eyes.
5. Watch green plants
Take some time around and watch the green plants. It is not only good for your soul but it relaxes your eyes and is the best source to freshen up.
